FOUNDER, PRESIDENT/CEO
Shocky Shay, a renowned artist figure in the world of hip-hop, made her debut in 1989 under the banner of Orpheus Records and Hush Productions. Her journey began with a remarkable feat - hitting the BILLBOARD CHARTS with her music. Shortly thereafter, she embarked on a radio career at 107.5 WBLS in New York City, under the mentorship of the legendary Frankie Crocker. Here, she hosted a segment known as "The Hip-Hop Cold Facts," where she delivered the latest in celebrity news, the top 10 hits, and even the weather. One of the most extraordinary moments in her career was when the iconic artist, Prince, declared himself a fervent fan. In 1998, he extended a special invitation for Shocky Shay and her mother to travel from their home in North Carolina to Atlanta, Georgia, for a memorable meeting. Today, Shocky Shay wears multiple hats. She is the CEO of Super Soaps Enterprise, LLC., overseeing the production of a diverse range of products, from soaps to body butters, which have garnered widespread acclaim. Simultaneously, she continues to shine as an on-air personality, now at 90.9FM WQFS in Greensboro, North Carolina. Beyond her musical and entrepreneurial endeavors, Shocky Shay is deeply committed to education. She imparts her knowledge and passion for legendary hip-hop to students ranging from the 6th to the 12th grade, all while championing her favorite mantra: "HIP-HOP DON'T STOP." In summary, Shocky Shay is not only a legendary hip-hop artist but also a dynamic force in the community. Her career, marked by achievements in music, radio, entrepreneurship, and education, reflects her unwavering dedication to making a positive impact in the world. She stands as a pioneer of the 50th hip-hop celebration movement, leaving an indelible mark on both the entertainment industry and society as a whole. We take immense pride in acknowledging her as the 1st, inaugural legendary hip-hop artist hailing from Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
